Recommended Packing list: Camera with enough zoom and memory space and extra batteries, binoculars, light clothes, safari boot, mosquito repellents, sunhat, sun glasses with UV radiation filtering etc.

  • This is a safari program covering some of Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda Destinations whereby you will need armed ranger/guide for any walking safari in this destination

Itinerary Description

Day 1: Arrival, Tour Briefing and Resting

  • You will be picked up from the airport in Nairobi ( Jomo Kenyatta International Airport) and be transferred to the booked hotel in Nairobi
  • Get the safari general briefing from the prepared safari consultant/guide
  • Dinner and overnight stay at your booked hotel in Nairobi

Day 2: The Great Rift Valley

  • After an early breakfast, leave Nairobi and drive down the escarpment past Lakes Naivasha and Elementaita to Lake Nakuru National Park seated on the floor of the Rift Valley
  • Arrive in time for lunch and thereafter, enjoy an afternoon game drive in this small game-filled Park
  • Have dinner and overnight at your booked accommodations near Great Rift Valley

Day 3: Kenya safari to Maasai Mara National Reserve

  • After breakfast, continue across the floor of the Great Rift Valley via the Maasai town of Narok to Maasai Mara National Reserve reaching by lunch time
  • Enjoy an afternoon game drive until evening
  • Then returning for dinner and overnight stay at Mara Serena Lodge

Day 4: Full day game drive at Maasai Mara National Reserve

  • Breakfast at lodge and leave with picnic lunches for a full day game drive inside the Park
  • Search for wild game black manned lion for which Mara is famous for, cheetah, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, leopard, grants gazelle are quite common, even the rare rhino might come out of the thicket for you and hyenas are plentiful
  • Extend your drive to the hippo point where schools of hippo submerge on the approach of vehicles only to surface seconds later to shot and gamble their displeasure as the crocodiles sunbathe on the river banks mouths agape
  • Between meals there is optional visit to the maasai villages for an insight to their culture if clients wish to
  • Have dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sopa lodge

Day 5: Maasai Mara to Nairobi

  • An early morning game drive in the Mara gives you a last glance at the Mara before you head for Nairobi
  • Drop off at the airport for your late afternoon / early evening flight to Entebbe
  • Our representative will transfer you to Kampala for dinner and overnight stay at Fairway Hotel or Ivys Hotel

Day 6: Uganda safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park

  • After breakfast early in the morning drive westwards to Queen Elizabeth National Park
  • It is the home of the famous tree climbing lions as well as the Uganda kob, others antelope’s species, elephant, baboons, hippos, buffalo and chimps and many more
  • Over 500 species of birds have been recorded, making the park a magnet for bird watchers
  • The bird species includes the black bee- eater, 11 types of king fisher, and several species of falcons, eagles and the raptors and many more
  • After lunch, enjoy the launch trip on Kazinga Channel for amazing bird life and a variety of wild life
  • After, in the crater lakes to the north, flocks of flamingoes can be found
  • Have dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Hostel

Day 7: Ishasha tree climbing lions tour

  • After a cup of coffee, enjoy the sunrise and take an early morning game drive along Kasenyi track, Queen’s mile and expect to see elephants, buffaloes, lions, kobs, waterbuck, and if you are lucky the shy leopard and spotted hyena, proceed to the Ishasha sector in search for the tree climbing lions
  • You will need to leave the hotel with packed lunch
  • Have dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi at Arcadia Cottages or similar

Day 8: Rwanda safari to Parc des Volcans

  • Enjoy an early breakfast before a two hour boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi for incredible birding
  • Continue to Virunga Conservation area, at the foothills of Muhavura and other volcanoes
  • You cross the border to Rwanda into Volcanoes National Park for dinner and overnight stay at Mt. Gorilla Nest Lodge or Kinigi Guest House

Day 9: Mountains gorilla safari

  • After an early breakfast and the briefing from the guides, set off for the mountains gorilla tracking inside the rain tropical forest of Rwanda
  • The time taken to find the gorillas varies according to the movements of these amazing primates
  • After the awaited encounter with the primates, return to the lodge and continue to Kigali for dinner and overnight stay at Serena Kigali Hotel or similar

Day 10: Akagera National Park

  • After breakfast, proceed to Akagera National Park situated along the Tanzania-Rwanda border
  • This park is most known for its herds of game consisting of Zebras, lions, elephants, topi, giraffes, impalas and over 425 species of birds including the shoe billed stock, African jacana, sacred ibis goliath heron
  • After game drives, dinner and overnight at Akagera Safari Lodge or camping site

Day 11: Transfer to Kigali

  • Have an early breakfast and afterward transfer to Kigali
  • Arrive in Kigali in a good time for lunch
  • After lunch leave you to rest or you may have an optional Kigali City tour if you wish too
  • Have dinner and overnight stay at your booked hotel/lodge in Kigali

Day 12: Departure Day

  • Have an early breakfast early in the morning and depending with your departure time you will be picked for your Airport transfer to catch your flight back home
